Description : Chinese Star Anise.

Origin : Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan provinces of China, also in southeast Asia and India etc.

Preparation : The herb is collected in autumn when the fruit turns from green to yellow, and dried after treated with boiling water for a moment or dried directly.

Properties : Acrid, Warm.

Meridians : Liver, Kidney, Spleen, Stomach.

Actions & Indications : Disperses Cold.Calms pain. Moves Qi. Used in vomiting due to coldness in stomach, pain and coldness in stomach.Chronic lower back pain with kidney yang deficient. Hernia Pain of Cold type.

Contraindications : Yin deficient with heat
